Our vision at Lady Katherine Leveson C of E Primary School, is that through Religious Education, all our children will be given opportunities for personal reflection and spiritual development. They will learn about different religions and cultures, develop tolerance and understanding of other people and enjoy engaging in reflecting on deeper questions of life. We aim to widen their horizons and deepen their spiritual understanding.
Lady Katherine Leveson Primary School follows the “Understanding Christianity” publication alongside the Local Authority’s scheme of work. This is an enquiry-based RE curriculum, which encourages the children to learn from different religions, beliefs, values and traditions, while exploring their own beliefs and questions of meaning.
We use lots of exciting ways to teach RE, including full-scale productions, role play, circle time, art, music, books, and use of artefacts, films and visits to the church. We aim to make RE a vibrant, interesting and dynamic part of the school curriculum.
We use our close relationship with the church to enhance our learning of Christianity.
